My daughter and I went to Taos Pueblo for the first time together while she was here visiting from Pennsylvania. Her pick, and it was my birthday! š
I was totally expecting some ancient deserted pueblo similar to what I had seen at other locations I visited already, even though the website says it is “a living Native American community”. We were both pleasantly surprised to find that this pueblo was very much active and alive. There were so many little arts and crafts shops and places to eat. We saw some of the people mudding their homes in preparation for winter and were able to speak with members of the community. (I finally learned what those little mud domes are for — bread baking!)
With all the great deals and knowing funds were going directly to the Indians, we purchased quite a few things at the Pueblo, so come prepared!
