Gabriel’s

Gabriel's of Santa Fe

When I first walked into Gabriel’s, I was struck by the totally Mexican vibe of the place: something about the open air courtyard threw me back to the month I spent in San Miguel de Allende — in a good way.

My ‘date’ and I were really made to feel at home and the waitstaff was very attentive to our needs. Water was supplied immediately, then chips and salsa, then out came our house made margaritas (no pre-made mixes here). I also noticed a ‘guacamole guy’ going from table to table with his cart, fixing up fresh guac tableside — pretty cool!

I ordered the vegetarian combo (bean burrito, guacamole taco, and a cheese enchilada with Christmas — that’s red and green chile on top). So good! And my friend really enjoyed his mole dish too.

Portions were plentiful and, in addition to the chips and salsa (and margaritas), we ended up not having room for dessert. But all in all, Gabriel’s was a really good experience. I would go back.
